Sustainable Saturday - Gardening with Children: A Series Documenting our Garden 2010 - The Finale

We're nearing the end of our growing season . . . well we may still plant some fall lettuce and spinach, but the bulk of our harvest is finished.  It's been an eventful summer.  Unfortunately full of more failures than successes, but never the less we learned new lessons about what we will grow again next year and organic pest control.

I would imagine that we'll be harvesting tomatoes for weeks to come and I have hopes to do some canning in the next few days.  The tomatoes in the basket are San Marzano tomatoes which I've heard make a great sauce.  We also harvested some okra today which I am hoping to come up with some great recipes for.
