LOZO: Tax Incentives to Pay for "Green" Upgrades

Check out LOZO to find out more about reducing your energy usage through home upgrades which will lower your bills AND help the environemnt . . . and let the government help pay for it! All in all, by fixing problems you can lower energy bills by 5% to 30% annually, worth up to $660 yearly savings for the average homeowner.

The Federal government offers tax credits to offset the cost of environmentally friendly home upgrades, and your State might contribute as well. So how do you decide whether it's worth doing? From a cost standpoint you take what you have to pay now (after tax savings), and divide by how much you will save on energy costs each year (a professional or DIY energy audit is a good first step to estimate that savings). That's how long until you make back your money.

For example, an upgrade that costs $2,000 before credits, and saves you $350 per year in energy savings, will take 4 years to pay back (and warrants serious consideration).
